i asked my college friend to accompany me last saturday
to a chinese drug store.
coincidentally, it was near 168,
a local mall which is
well known for its really cheap fashion finds
that are usually from bangkok or hongkong.
i haven't been there in a while,
and im so glad i went!

these are the fab finds i found:

red silk rosebud ring

the silk makes this piece very feminine and romantic
while the color gives it a strong character
this ring spells romantic glamour!

rope and chain bracelet in black and silver with lock and key charm

i love functional forms, and this heart lock and key
aren't just charms, they really do keep the bracelet closed!

close up image of the heart padlock

My friend and i actually got matching ones!
and we haggled for these lovelies, too!

this weekend, im looking forward
to organizing my growing accessory collection
which is slowly taking over my room.
also, going to one of my favorite places
for cheap and chic accessory indulgences.

till the next cheap thrill,

i know i've mentioned how much i love bangles
ever since i discovered how flattering they are.
so here's another set of my faves,
one of last year's lasting trend: animal print!
welcome to the wild side!

zebra print resin bangle from Greenbelt

plastic coiled leopard print bangle from The Landmark

cheetah print rose bangle from The Landmark

These are definitely a part of my summer staples list!

tip: with animal print bangles in season,
it is wise to buy pieces that has something unique to offer
like an irregular shape or accents.

Last December, I went to the World Trade Center
for their annual Christmas bazaar.
The first stall I splurged on sold
different kinds of wooden accessories,
mostly, bangles.

The owner said these are from Cebu,
one of the Philippines' province.
These accessories are sent mainly abroad for export
or sold at posh department stores here in Manila.
Imagine how thrilled I was when I chanced upon it!

I initially wanted to hoard, but seeing that bit was the first stall of the night,
I knew I had to save some for later.
After much internal debate, I finally decided on these three:

I love the pattern and color combination.
They remind me of exotic places like Africa!
And since summer is almost around the corner,
I'm sure these bangles are gonna see their fair share of sun!

Chunky bangles are definitely one of my outfit staples.

I definitely can't wait for Summer!

till next fab find,
Reina

Studs were one of 2009's biggest trends.
From Balmain's iconic studded sandals
to Givenchy's studded jackets,
studs were literally almost everywhere this year.

I, myself won't deny i got a little stud happy the past year.
And as proof, here is a picture of my favorite bangles as of date:

(studded bangles from The Landmark and Pop Culture)

These are actually 3 sets of bangles which i wear together.
Its part of my everyday outfit formula / 'uniform'
along with the black rose ring i posted.
Bangles always complete my ensemble <3,

i already have a coin purse
which matches my mobile phone purse
(see, i also have a thing for matching things,
i got it from my momma)

so i decided to use this to keep my ancient
but still working perfectly well sony walkman mp3 player
to justify my impulse buy

aren't all girls guilty of this deed? ;)

hello darlings!

i shall shamelessly credit my lack of post

My favorite things about New Year
are fireworks and planners.
Yep, planners!
One of the things I look forward to every end of the year
is choosing my planner for the next year.
Last year, I had Belle de Jour.
This year, I bought a made to order one:

The I-was-supposed-to-get-that-Coffeehouse-Planner-But-I-Got-Fat/Broke-on-the-10th-frappe Planner 2010

I specifically like the shape and size (6x6)
I'm fond of square notebooks.

"If found kindly return and say
Ang burara mo! Pero in fairness, ang cute ng planner mo ha!
(You're so messy! But in fairness, you're planner's really cute!)
to:

The things I like most about this planner though, is that
a. not many people has it
b. the quirky lines inside? super funny!
(and i love how the text inside is in our language (tagalog <3)

c. the price, definitely a steal for something as unique!

If you wanna check it out, visit: www.nottheplanner.multiply.com

I can't wait to start the coming New year right!
I hope the coming year will be as interesting as my new planner!

Cheers to the upcoming holidays!

I received some early Christmas presents this year from my colleagues.
Its always nice to receive presents, but I really appreciate
presents that are well thought of.
Because that shows that person is thinking of you
when they bought it ^^

necklace charms
silver wrought iron necklace with charms

I received this gift from our marketing director
who is also one of my favorite shopping buddies.
This necklace actually came with a denim halter vest
which I shall talk post in another entry.

I love skeleton keys and crowns!

cocktail ring
plastic cocktail ring with a girl print

This cocktail ring came from my supervisor.
I was about to get a ring like this during the weekend
but decided against it in favor of buying Christmas gifts.
I consider getting this ring for a present as a lucky coincidence
and a reward for putting other people first ^^

I'm looking forward to more good surprises this yuletide season!
but more importantly, I'm looking forward to my friends' delighted faces
when they receive my customized presents :)
I'm crossing my fingers and hope they like it!

Have you been naughty or nice this year?

Cheers!

One of my very good friends, Aftie
went to Bangkok this past June
and one of her presents for me was this:

red bow tie necklace with star prints

this bow tie necklace can single-handedly complete
a very casual outfit!

p.s.
i love the print :)

Next time, I shall post some of
my early Christmas presents.

reina
